White isn't a standard ground wire color. Maybe someone changed something
in your machine at some point? Green is a standard ground wire color in
the US, while Green with a yellow stripe meets international standards.
I've seen blue/brown/white used for 240V ungrounded twist-lock connectors
before, but I'm certain these machines require 120V at 20A.

It should have a green base color if it's a ground wire.
