The brown recluse is small, about half an inch. Though common, they
hide in damp places and so are not often encountered.

Releasing the spider was definitely the right thing to do. By the way,
the way to conclusively identify a wolf spider is by the arrangement of
its multiple eyes. Sellam, did you look at its face? :-0
