I was closely involved with the Mentec hobbyist "package" (it was both
more and less than just a license) for a good period of time two years ago.
After many months of hard effort I simply gave up, because it became
obvious to me that the Mentec vs (DEC || Compaq || now HPQ) issues
(in addition to the ever-present but vague Mentec vs Mentec issues)
that were delaying the license were not going to be conquered by any
of my technical expertise or by my vast library of DEC PDP-11 software.

I really wish it does goes through succesfully, but I spent enough
of my time and energy on that and I've moved on. Mentec has my software
collection on a stack of CD-R's; I hope they find some way to let hobbyists
gain access to it.
