VRE01 woes

Ok Now, I stuffed my dell with 4 videocards, 3 matrox millennium
cheapies with 8mb ram, one s3 was on-board and installed xf86, so my
mouse now jumps from the 19in lcd to the 19in tube and to the 19in VRE01
and I have all the visual real estate I ever need....but:
The trouble is the VRE01 is kind of flickery with about 12 vertical
areas top to bottom that seem to "shimmy" slightly in -bpp16. no you
cannot run --bpp8 for a single card. And not --bpp4 or 2 either in that
server.
But its not that methinks, it looks more like a slightly out-of-tune
synch sig. sync on green enabled on that card of course. Or a secondary
"overlay" frequency that creates a crazy harmonic? Barely!?

Has anyone else tried?
Getting a b/w VRE01 gasplasma display to display with an xfree server in
linux? b/w dithered?
Its my ambition....I'm almost there! What am-I doing wrong??
