I use embedded Pascal, but I don't do much programming for the computers I use
every day. Embedded 'C' is another option, so it often depends on my starting
point. In the last analysis, what matters is the cross-assembler.
I wasn't trying to say the thing was without potential purpose, but, that I
simply don't have a plan. I'm sure that once I send the second Performa to my
S.O's sister, the two of them will eventually use whatever computers are at
their disposal in order to have their "chats" several times a week. What
matters, of course, is to have software that will run on the Performa at one
end and a PC at the other, since my S.O. has, in the interim, decided that the
AppleVision monitor is too big for her space, and the Performa doesn't fit the
spot in her desk in which she intends to put her computer. Since she already
owns a mini-tower based PC, I guess I have to let her do what she wants, but I
also would like to get her sister going so as to reduce the amount paid out
for phone bills.
Perhaps there's a valid question as to whether there's cheap/free software
that will enable this sort of LD conversation via the internet between a MAC
and a PC. I'd assume that 3Com, if anyone, would promote such a thing.
