        If all you're trying to do is hook two machines together you
don't need a hub or anything else, just a CAT5 cross-over cable. You
can either roll your own or Belkin makes a nice one, p/n R7J304.
They're actually pretty easy to find. We used to play network games
like this between two systems without actually being connected to the
LAN.
