In the late 70s and early 80s, business people knew that computers were
giant machines sequestered in a temple with raised access flooring, heavy-
duty air conditioning, and their own priests and accolytes to keep the
rabble away. So if you wanted to have any hope of selling small computers
to business people, it was *essential* to make them seem friendly and
approachable.
