Was "War Games" based on real-life?

  I belive that both Kevin Mitnick *and* the producers of War Games both
deny this. The producers did, however, create the concept of ``war
dialing'' from which we now get ``war driving'' (which is searching for open
wireless access points by driving down the street with your laptop and a
wireless network card).
