a lot of the 3rd party trinatron's use borderline flybacks, and that's what
cause the dimness or lack of focus :( Sun did that with their fixed
frequency "19" inch monitors, they used a flyback that just barely met
specs so as it aged and got "weaker" you'd lose brightness and / or focus :(
