SOunds like one of the special MOS memory boards for the 11/45 series. It
was faster than using plain Unibus memory (which did work BTW, no matter
what some DEC mnuals might have you believe).

There was also an even faster (300ns cycle?) bipolar RAM board for the
11/45.

You need an 11/45 CPU backplane _and_ the appropriate memory controller
card (which is different for MOS and bipolar memory boards). The MOS
memory also uses some strange voltage levels -- I have, I think, one of
the power 'bricks' for it somewhere. If, as you say, it uses 1103s, then
I would expect +16V and +19V power lines
