Technique for scanning in documentation

Some scanner software can output PDF directly. That's probably the
easiest approach.

If you have the full Acrobat package (not just the free Acrobat Reader),
it can import common image formats such as TIFF and JPEG, but you have
to do it one at a time. There are other programs out there that can
do this a bit more easily. I use my own program under Linux, which I
hope to find the time to clean up and release sometime.
