With my interest in ham radio, I noticed an HP8954A transceiver
on ebay.

This auction is for an HP 8954A Transceiver Interface, it is fully
programmable and uses microwave switches and hardware in all RF paths,
this
unit has been designed for dc - 18GHz measurements it has flexibility
for
AM, FM, and SSB receiver / transmitter testing

On the back panel it has outputs for:
RF Monitor 1, 2, Demod 1.
RF Source 1, 2, Mod 1.
Audio Source
Analyzer
Power Supply Socket.
Aux Relay Socket.
HP-IB Socket
