"Safety Rails" do not come apart like that. They are specifically designed
so the device *won't* go in or out through the front of the machine. It
will extend so the device can be serviced, but it won't let go so you can
take the device out and set it on a table. Likewise, you can't pick it up
from the table and engage the rail glides, then push it on in, like you
would regular rails.

They are a pain.

To get a "safety" rail apart, you have to do a maneuver roughly equivalent
to pushing the device all the way through the *back* of the rack. Of
course, the bezel prevents that, if the rail is actually mounted to a
device.
