I attended many NECS meetings, and after-meeting sessions at a local
restaurant! I used to also dial in to the few local BBSs; NECS, Andover
CNODE, and another board using software I can't recall... (in fact one
message posted on Andover CNODE re: 'what if BBSs sent messages to each
other across 'local call' boundaries...' was part of FidoNet's genesis;
the original authors idea was impractical, but it got me thinking.)
