The Apple ][ wants 300 Oerstedt diskettes. The most common of those are
"360K" (DSDD).
The data density is so low (barely more than FM/SD, that it can tolerate
some fairly poor quality diskettes, such as the ones that were being
manufactured at that time.
"HD"/"1.2M" diskettes are 600 Oerstedt, and will not work reliably for it.
Sometimes they will APPEAR to work, but be unreadable soon after.
If you use an 8" drive on a ][ (Sorrento Valley Associates controller),
then you need to look for SS or DS disks based on which drive you use - SD
will be adequate.
IF you use a 3.5" drive on a ][, then use "720k"/"DSDD" diskettes.
I'm pretty sure that the 3" drive (Ampro) for it was single sided.
