semi-OT: text lites

It's a "text lite mm500", made in Ireland apparently for a german
company (www.textlite.de I think). Seems to want about 6V 1A.
The serial port is a 1/8" phono-stereo jack so I'm tempted
to try the cord for my digital cam on it, a better than 1:6 chance of
the connections being right.

There are three other ports: synch in/out and a 14 pin IDC.
I think the synchs allow scrolling across multiple lines of
display.

If you your serial port is a 1/8" I'd be interested in the signal
assignments.
