386 motherboard with discrete logic chips only?

AFAIK, that's Chips & Technology, but I could be mistaken.

Is the slot that's parallel with slot 8 a memory expansion connector? If
so, have you ever seen one that would fit it? I've seen those connectors
on 386 and 486 boards before, but I've never seen anything that would fit
them.
