In the mid to late 1970's, Honda was non-interference. Less than one in a
hundred broken cambelts involved other engine damage. I once did a
cambelt on a civic on the freeway shoulder, with no tools but a swiss army
knife and a 5WR Vise-grip. ... and still managed to get out of there
before the Caltrans tow truck arrived.
I'm sorry to hear that they're now interference.
