If you really meant KM428C256 rather than KM428C25, I've found an SGI
document that says a certain controller was implemented with the
following VRAMs, so presumably they're equivalents or nearly so:

Toshiba TC528257
Mitsubishi M5M482256
Hitachi HM538253
Micron MT42C8255
Fujitsu MB8128xx
NEC uPD482234
TI TMX55160
Vitelec V53C851
Samsung KM428C256
