Another possibility is that classiccmp's web-archive of past posts may
have been scanned for addresses. I had the same thing happen a while back
with the Tolkien Sarcasm Page (
http://flyingmoose.org/tolksarc), and
began getting large quantities of junk mail listed as coming from other
contributors (who, in turn, got junk mail purporting to be from me).
When I started getting mail from my old, long-dead Netcom shell account, I
knew it was suspicious. :)
I altered all the e-mail addresses on that site to make them less
machine-harvestable. It seems to have helped. Whether that's something the
classiccmp website needs to do or not is a different question, though.
