Too many tapes, Too much TTL, I want my garage back

Too many backup tapes.

I've got about 100 assorted 8mm backup tapes. Some
are Sony video-8 (120 minute) and some are ExaByte. All
were used in Exabyte 8200 and 8505 tape drives in the now
distant past. All have confidential information on them,
and originally cost between $10 and $20 each.

a) Is there any absolutely certain way to erase these tapes
(a super bulk eraser) other than running them all through
a tape drive and over writing everything, or running them
   through a band saw.

b) Are these actually worth anything?

c) Any interest?

I've got about several 100 assorted 5-1/4" floppies. All
have confidential information on them, and originally cost
between $0.10 and $1.00 each.

d) Is there any absolutely certain way to erase these floppies
(a super bulk eraser) other than running them all through
a floppy drive and low level formatting them, or running
   them through a band saw.

e) Are these actually worth anything?

f) Any interest?

Pile of DDS2 tapes too.

I am currently more interested in destroying the data, than
recouping all of my "investment", so the band saw is looking
pretty good.

I just thought I should check here in case someone desperately
needs this.

Other stuff I wan't to rid myself of:

(not willing to ship this stuff. cash and pickup. Sunnyvale California)

Life time supply of TTL to maintain your old computers:
8 component cabinets, with probably about 8000 (wild guess)
assorted TTL chips. 74F, 74LS, 74S, 74AS, 74ALS, 74XX

(I posted this to another list, and as a result of interest I took some photos.
Unfortunately, that email list is not currently working, so I never got to
inform the interested people that I had taken the photos. Maybe they read
this list too)

>I guess I will sell to the highest bidder, as in $ per cabinet.
>Includes cabinet. I would prefer bidders inspect, rather than me having

>close up digital photos? Would this be sufficient?

I have taken some digital photos.
The first picture in each sub directory is the front of the cabinet
and the rest show the contents of the draws on each row of the cabinet.

Revised estimate is that each cabinet has probably between 1000 and
2000 chips per cabinet.

Pile of ECL (several 100 devices (wild guess))

AMD sys8/8 (dual full height 8" floppies, Multibus 8080 based CP/M)

2 x AMD sys29 chassis with PSU but no boards (big multibus cardcage)

Way too many sealed lead-acid UPS battery packs with
24 CYCLON D size cells in each pack:

(ideal for battlebots)

Multiple PC tower cases with assorted CPU boards, including DUAL
Pentium-2 400MHz

About 100 VHS tapes with assorted movies that I recorded from
tv, which I will never get around to ever watching.

More stuff I don't know about until this top layer of stuff goes :-)

(I know under all this stuff is a near new Delta Unisaw, and several other
woodworking power tools and accessories, with almost no useage)

Thanks for any interest,
Philip Freidin
