I recently purchased an old CMOS AS/400 at an auction - I checked for the
MULIC tape and the IBM "Deinstall Sheet" which contains the password(s)
needed to bring the system back up. It had both.
I used to work on AS/400's as a network integrator (networked them with IBM
Mainframes, *NIX boxes, etc.).
I'm waiting on an ASCII workstation "adapter interface" (cable w/RS232 box)
from a broker so I can connect ASCII terminals to the critter and see if I
can get it to work.
I'll keep you posted on my progress (or lack thereof) regarding the license,
etc. I have pretty good contacts at IBM - so if we need a "non-commercial"
license - and such a thing exists - I'll let you (and the list) know the
process to get one.
