Modern modems do support Bell 103A mode at 300 baud; I have 3 USR Courier
V.Everything modems on one of my VAXen and I can dial into them from a
TI 707 (portable printing terminal with a built-in 300 baud modem).

But from what others have said in this thread it seems that Tandy's
implementation of the Bell 103A modulation is non-standard.
