Hi Guys,

For the past few weeks, I've been off and on trying to help a guy who
is trying to get a NorthStar Horizon up and running... He is located in
Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin - and I'm in Ottawa Ontario Canada - so it's
a bit of a remote excercise.

He's not really having any luck at all - He's got a double density
controller, two single density controller, and a few different RAM boards
which may or may not be configured correctly etc... He's also got
several geometry drives (Single-Sided, Double-Sided, DS-80 track) and
several boot disks, and does not know what combinations work together
etc.

Unfortunately the Horizon has no ROM monitor or front panel ... He can get
the system to step the drive, but has not been able to get anything to
boot - He may have the wrong disk/drive/controller combo, RAM mapped "on
top" of the disk controller, bad controller, bad RAM etc... So far we have
been unable to move forward, and without physical access to the system, I
can't do much more.

Is there anyone on this list with a working NorthStar disk system, or even
any S-100 system with a front panel or ROM monitor that can help us out?
Basically we need to test his RAM boards and disk controller in a system
where we can see what is happening.

Regards,
Dave
