Is Microsoft dying?

The difference between 98 and XP!? That's like saying "I just upgraded from a
1974 Chevy to a 2004 Chevy, and except for some nicer body parts and interior
styling, it looks the same to me." LOL... look under the hood. :)

RE: A/V -- why should they build anything? Longhorn (the next major Windows
release) is already two years late and missing a couple of the main features
they promised for it. Meanwhile they have to worry about security patchs, .Net
stuff, Office updates, etc. Since money is basically irrelevant to Microsoft
right now, there is no point in them devoting thousands of man-hours and
waiting another two years, vs. throwing moeny at the problem and having A/V
right now.

What I don't get is why they bought such a small player in the A/V arena. In
light of Symantec buying Veritas, I'm surprised Microsoft didn't go for Mcafee.
