Top-posting shenanigans (was: Re: ASR33 $1000+ And Counting...)

I'm with der Mouse on nearly everything on this subject. All I'd
like to add is, if instead of everyone arguing microscopic details
of what is and isn't allowed, people put more EFFORT and CARE into
their posts, it would be much better.

Succinct, well-trimmed, paragraph wrapped[1], would go along way.
If it all fits in a dozen lines or so, for example, it matters a
lot less of it's top or bottom posts.

Something to that effect.

[1] A REAL PET PEEVE is the ruinated paragraphs generated by CRAP
software like M$'s MUAs. Hand-repairing mal-quoted para's is
likely too hard to be practical. However all the other complaints
about top-quoting-as-default-behaviour are crap, it just takes a
little effort. I've used Outlook too, it can be done, but the
paragraph thing really is terrible.

Pine can't even do paragraphs; I *went to the effort* to map a
keystroke to fmt, and I use it.
