Completely original vs. upgraded

Personally in situations like that I don't like doing anything that
can't be put 'right' again at a later date - so if it involves drilling
holes in cases and things I wouldn't do it, but if it's just a board
swap I would (and hang on to the original board so I could always put
things back how they were)
