Hmmm, with surface-mount components it should be possible to make an
IC-sized board which is functionally equivalent, but you'd have to be
pretty keen.

If the OP is not intending to use the original board layout or any RTL
devices, then there shouldn't be a problem in translating the design
into TTL, but then why not go the whole way and put it into an FPGA?
