The T1100 was Toshiba's first laptop, not *the* first laptop. I think the
T1100 came out in 1986.

Other laptops that have been called the "first":
        1981 Epson HX-20 (first A4-style laptop)
        1982 GRiD Compass (first clamshell laptop)
        1983 Gavilan (Gwen Bell called this one the first laptop)
        1983 TRS-80 Model 100 (M100 owners like to call this the "first")
        1984 HP 110 (first battery powered clamshell?)
        1984 DG/One (Data General says there's was first)
