Uh, no. In fact I've seen complete Macintosh systems with a 1.44Mb floppy
for less than what a new floppy drive would set you back! The thing to
remember is that these are self ejecting drives. If you've ever installed
MS Office from floppy on both a Mac and a PC, you'll be convinced that the
drives are worth the extra expense :^)
In the case of the PowerBook 150, I think you've got to have a PB150 drive :^(
