Series/1 noisese and failures... 4967 dead?

Perhaps is the drive motor not spinning fast enough (because it may be a
240V type as well, now only getting 120V)? If it can not get up to speed,
well...

Maybe if I am bored tonight, I will take a look at one of mine.
