The Tandy 600 archive is back (yea, after quite some time... ;-( )
Just ftp to:
ftp://ftp.30below.com/Tandy600
(yea, the cap "T" is neccessary - so it'll show up near the top! ;^)
Now, I didn't clean up the archive - so there are some duplicated files --
I'll work on that when I get Samba up and running again, and I don't have
to do things thru the command prompt...
Also: Warning:
There are a few pictures under the "graphics" subdir... as explained to me:
There may be some pictures of "nekkid wimmin" but prolly are ascii-type art.
I did not put them there... I will not remove them. I have not even looked
at them... that's just how Larry put it to me, and as there's precious few
of 'em, I figure they're a part of history (like the Mona Lisa, only
bare-breasted (I'm assuming) & ascii-fied...)
Don't like 'em, don't download 'em. 'Nuff said.
This archive is intact from what Larry Kollar sent me a coupla years ago
with the exception of a few added files (and a few files getting copied to
multiple directories).
Likewise, there might (I said *might*) be some copyrighted software there,
but if there is, I'm sure there isn't much. If said copyright holder(s) get
Grumble-toothed at me, I'll remove them from the public archive...
One thing of note: If you have a working 600, check the directory hhos (I
think...) There is a Tandy 600 emulator for MS-DOS that (I heard) works
provided you can get a ROM image from your machine.
(The emulator should be pretty quick, as the 600 was 8086 based - so it
just has to emulate the *environment* -- the processor instructions run
natively on any x86 AFAIK.)
That said, sorry for the downtime, it should never leave again (I was just
an employee [disgruntled, at that ;-] at the last ISP, I'm an owner, now.)
and please *enjoy* the return of this classic stuff and spread the word...
I doubt the number of active Tandy600 users could fill our T1 to the
'net... ;^>
Gotta go home, and remind my wife she has a hubby... ;-)
