There was a PIC1670, but that had nothing to do with the TMS7000. The
GI PICs were introduced way before the TMS7000.

It's certainly possible that GI second sourced or cloned the TMS7000, but
I never heard of it. GI second-sourced the TMS32010 DSP chip, and Microchip
still offered it for a few years after they were spun off.

As far as more powerful (non-DSP) microprocessors go, they seemed to try
really hard to push the CP1600 16-bitter (Gemini?). Parts from this family
were found in the Intellivision video game system.
