There was just a thread on the problem of identifying IBM card by the FRU # on
the PS2 newsgroup. Apparently there are tens of thousands of FRU issues, each
of which had it's own # even when the FRU in question only had minor
variations. If the function is known the FRU can serve to identify it further
if someone else has the card. Sort of a catch 22. You might check out the
thread for identification solutions. If it was an MCA card Peter Wendts program
can identify most of them when in the machine.
