I'm assuming you've a TZ30? Is the tape stuck? Sounds like you might want
to clean the drive. I've taken TK50's apart, carefully cleaned the tape
head and tape path with bottle of tape head cleaner and swabs that I picked
up from Radio Shack. Worked great when I put it back together. I figure
it puts less wear and tear on the drive than a cleaning tape would, if you
could even find a cleaning tape. Not sure what this does for tape head
alignment, but I've read tapes written on other drives without any problem.
Anyway, if you let us know what kind of drive you've got, one of us should
have a manual for it, and be able to look up what the lights mean.
