This pizzabox is/was a VaxStation 4000/vlc

1280x1024x8

You got it right, that's th graphics/audio option for the 4000/vlc
To be completely sure, check the PCB near the VRAMs. You should see some of
the famous DEC product numnbers like 5420772 or 50-20771 ...
