Well, on the theory of fix the simple problems before moving on to the
harder problems. I removed this bit of floatsam and the carraige now
correctly traverses the platen without stopping!
I found the picture of the reader clutch control based on your reference.
Using those part numbers this is what I have going on the last "local mode"
problem (reader doesn't stop)
The arm #183098, doesn't come back far enough toward #185775 to
successfully disengage. I'm assuming that when it is correctly adjusted
that if I push it past into the leaf spring the next transmit should
disengage it again.
