Servus,
AFAIR, the Quattro (or 8870/x where x is in CDGMQU) has been a mid
range syystem from Nixdorf (later on SNI) with an custom CPU and
no standard OS.
Maximum RAM of the Lates Model was AFAIR 128M :))
Most 8870 installations did run the COMET software package. An
integrated bussines solution (like SAP) for small to mid size
companies. Individual addons have been made via COMET BASIC.
SNI did convert most of the COMET modules to SINIX 5.43, to
migrate the installed base toward new RM systems after cancelation
of the 8870. Today they even sold the COMET package.
The 8870 with COMET has been one of the core products of Nixdorf,
and a reliable cash cow during the years, but already before the
merger they had two rivaling product lines (Quattro and Targon)
and together with the SIEMENS series of RM Machines (SINIX as OS)
they hade to clean the product lines.
Normaly used together with tthe Nixdorf Terminals BA80/84 or aprobiate
Emulations (like the BA-Emu for Windows). Printers have been MD07, MD12,
MD20, ND26 etc.
Maybe I'll find more Info...
