The South American systems feel a bit like Eastern Europe.
A lot of cloning and redesign of Western systems to
support the local market with computers ... But while
in the east the trade regulations (and missing valuta)
have been the main force behind cloning (and using local
suplies - whitch results in a 100% dominance of 8080/Z80
systems while it looks like they did use imported CPUs
in SA), what have been the reasons for South America ?
Local trade barriers ? High import taxes ?
