Costa Mesa, CA has a large group of 18" train buffs, and I "think" they
make us look almost sane. They made a deal with the city to use some
undeveloped land west of the golf course on (Harbor?), and have a nice long
layout and workshops, with the give side being free rides on one or two
weekends a months (kids LOVE this).
