I have an NT-based PC at work, and I've never stuck my hands into it
either, but I regularly have to reboot the damn thing. If I go a few
days without having to reboot it, I count myself lucky...

Same thing with one of my home PCs, but on that one, I have to reboot
daily, if not more...

...but I have numerous DEC systems which have been running NON-STOP for a
*YEAR* or more...
