Professors worry that engineering students don't tinker enough...

My own experience is that the engineers don't build anything themselves in
most jobs, unless they are making something for themselves. Products get
built by the techs, all the soldering, wire wrap etc., even on prototypes.

I like to tinker, but haven't found anybody that wants to pay me to do it.
