What I've always done is have UPS deliveries to my place of work, as there
is always a RESPONSIBLE person there to accept the package.
I had a neighbor call me once who lived about 2 miles down the road --- he
had one of my packages that UPS "dumped" in his lap. If you have to get it
at home -- tell the shipper to have the terminal hold it, and call for
delivery. Then just go in and get it. It's a major hemmoroid, but at least
you don't lose things or drive over them . . . . .
