IANAL, but that strikes me as an extremely actionable offense: "I paid
for it." They accepted it, There are implied contracts here. If that
had happened to me, I would have left a smoking crater, figuratively
speaking, where that store used to be. Some things shouldn't be tolerated.

I'd consult a lawyer.
