Hmm? Standard open-reel 9-track tape from the sound of it. The '6250' is a
dead giveaway. That's a standard density in 9-track land.

Most definitely not. Totally different format and bit densities. You will
need a 9-track drive and appropriate controller to do so.
If you can't locate such, and you're really curious as to what's on it,
I'm one of (likely) several people on the list that could read it for you
(if you don't mind mailing to the States).
