You're so right. I've always resented the way MTV, radio stations, etc.
tell kids and young adults what music they are to like, and I doubly
resent the eagerness with which the subjects flock to obey.

I don't know if it's a property of the generation itself or just of Evil
Corps that have made it so, but there are certainly a good number of such
people. There's a very outspoken one that always ends up in at least one
of my CS classes every semester. Oh, and did I mention that he is
Microsoft's "student representative" for the University?
