Oddly, Mac browsers don't support those alt-tags as you
describe. I had some of our graphics artists ask me why their
alt-tags, which they were required to put there, weren't showing up
on the Mac's. I've yet to find a single Mac browser, whether it be
IE, Netscape, or Opera, that shows them. On the other hand, the
redering differences between Netscape and IE are well known. My main
page is a good example of one that looks quite different depending on
which one you use to view it. I've always liked AWeb for the Amiga
and it's compatability settings. You could choose whether to render
using strict HTML standards or do it compatible with the other
browsers.
