A number of years ago, someone wrote a utility
for OpenVMS that would display a CPU load
on the seven segment LED of a MicroVAX II
9or MicroVAX 3600 series, I forget).

Assuming you can find it, hacking it to
do the VS4000-60/VS4000-9x LEDs should not be too much
of a stretch.
