If you ever do any research into data communication, information theory,
digitized voice communication, etc, you can't avoid running into his (Claude
Shannon's) work, as he was one of the great thinkers and doers at Bell Labs'
Murray Hill, NJ (?) research center. He applied his learning and discoveries to
the very technologies that make this forum possible.
