It does appear to be a console machine a la
the C-64, but a bit less powerful.
I remember wanting one of these when I was a kid and
seeing the Protecto ads. FWIW, in high school, I actually
scraped enough money together to buy an APF
Imagination Machine when they were liquidating them,
but they were out of stock and I never got one. (They
did issue a refund.) And I still have a thing for orphaned
machines!
